Hela mänskligheten lever just nu i upplösningen av Industrialism – Kapitalism – Konsumism! Festen är över! Helt uppenbara Konsekvenser av flera ofrånkomliga faktorer visar att det är oundvikligt:
1/ USAS, Japans, EU-ländernas statliga skuldbörda + räntebörda är för var och en stat av aldrig tidigare skådade, rent bibliska dimensioner.
2/ Alla dessa stater är ”kusiner” med Grekland, alltså genomruttna ekonomiska ”råttbon”, vad gäller ekonomisk situation.
Vad skulle de behöva vidta för åtgärder för att komma ur situationen?
!: sänka statens kostnader, drastiskt, vilket leder till drastiskt höjd arbetslöshet, ökat antal företagskonkurser, drastiskt minskade skatteintäkter.
2: höja skatterna, vilket äts upp av färre arbetande skattebetalare och färre vitala företag.
3: Trycka nya pengar, vilket leder till höjd inflation, vilket leder till sjunkande valutavärden, dyrare levnadsomkostnader i vart och ett ”råttbo”, minskad konsumtion – och skatteintäkter.
4: Skulle det vara så, att dessa ekonomiska ”råttbon” på något gudomligt sätt skulle få hjulen att snurra i takt med det ekonomiska behovet, ja, då skulle inte jordens alla peakande råvaror, olja och mångamånga andra räcka till för att dels bestrida den sammantagna ofattbara kapitalskulden + ränteskulden + kostnaderna för de samhälleliga åtminstone nödvändigaste facsiliteterna.
Vi upplever nu Industrialismens, Kapitalismens och Konsumismens dödskamp – gu´skelov! Festen är över – vilket räddar vårt, våra barns och deras efterkommandes liv – och framtid!
Vad kommer sedan? Leverne i samklang med naturen, då vi lärt vår läxa: Människan står inte över naturen, hon är en del av den, på exakt samma sätt som en mask eller annan varelse.

Antonia: Du har inte förstått grundprincipen. Pengar i dagens samhälle SKAPAS genom lån. Så om det inte finns några lån, så finns det inga pengar!
Att prata om återhållsamhet blir därför bara cyniskt. Det är lika cyniskt som att prata inför gladiatorer om vitsen att hålla sig skadefri.
Faktum är att människor i dagens system MÅSTE skuldsätta sig för att systemet överhuvudtaget ska fungera, och det är det som är det riktigt sjuka, och det är därför som vi rör oss mer och mer mot revolution.
Vad som behövs är två saker.
1. Dels en omfattande reform av våra penningsystem. Pengar ska inte skapas genom lån. Möjligen kan staten skapa pengar som skuldfria krediter, men i framtiden finns det också andra möjligheter som cryptocurrency som BitCoin samt olika system där individer själva skapar krediter som de underhåller värdet på själva.
2. Det andra som behöver göras är en omfattande skattereform där vi slutar beskatta arbete, och istället börjar beskatta land och naturresurser. Så länge som naturresurser kan monopoliseras så kommer nämligen dagens ny-feodala system alltid att kunna fortleva.

Tack Robert. Du har rätt. Jag har inte förstått principen…och det är nog just därför jag inte heller har betungande lån att oroa mig för och och kanske just därför tillhör jag skalan också som inte heller har en förmögenhet att tala om.
Och det kommer i slutändan antagligen resultera i att när allting rasar ihop antingen genom reformer eller en revolution, kommer det visa sig att hade nog varit mycket bättre om jag följde andras exempel och skuldsatta mig ända ner i fotknölarna. För det kommer ändå inte spela någon roll för massorna.
Men är inte ändå allt en pyramidspel? Som bara växer och växer tills allting blir till bortom all räddning?

It is only logical – since America uses about 25% of the oil and other vital resources in the world, but is only about 5 to 6% of the world’s population – how can it be possible for China, Russia, India and other nations to replecate the forms of industrial prodcution that obtained in Europe and America – where are the resources to come from?

Kina, Brasilien och Ryssland har kommit överens om att de ska använda deras egna valutor när de handlar med varandras valutor och skippar dollarn (Kineserna har också fixat en deal med Turkiet att skippa dollarn handeln dem emellan).

Det där med hyperinflation genom att trycka sedlar låter klokt men i ett kredit/skuldbaserat penningsystem funkar det inte riktigt på det sättet. Staten kan trycka in mer skuldfria pengar, såsom den QE (Quantitative easing) som skett i USA och som Japan sysslat med sedan början av 90-talet när deras kreditbubbla sprack. Trots att Japanerna har tryckt in massiva QE har de ändå haft deflation då krediter dött snabbare än cash har kunnat tryckas in. Dessutom har de mesta av pengarna hamnat på bankernas centralbankskonton för fylla på reserverna och hålla zombiebankerna vid liv – både i Japan och USA. Ekonomen Rickard Werner,som myntade ordet QE, ville att Japanska staten skulle ge ut pengarna direkt till människor istället för att ge dem till bankerna. Helikopter-Bernanke har fått smeknamnet (helicopter Ben) för att han sa att han skulle flyga över USA och släppa dollarsedlar på folk med en helikopter. Nu har han som sagt inte gjort det utan istället gett pengarna till bankerna (tydligen var det 16 biljoner dollar (trillions i USA) som FED bara trollade fram från ingenting och det mesta gavs inte ens till amerikanska banker! Så budgetunderskottet är ett stort fånigt blaha – kan FED skapa 16 billioner dollar från ingenting som FED ger till bankerna skulle FED självklart kunnat skapat 1 billion (trillion i USA) från ingenting och täckt upp budgetunderskott, såsom Michael Hudson mycket riktigt påpekat.
Sen delar vi åsikt om att det mesta i världen är åt helvete – men jag kanske är mer positiv än du är – det kan ju fan inte bli mycket mer dårskap! Vi borde fan ha nått Peak-dårskap nu! 🙂 ).

Well, USA (and most of Europe) is pretty much hollowed out and the industry has been shipped to China. So I don’t really understand what you mean by ”develop another industrialized country”. Neither USA or EU got much left of industry (accept Germany) – we are the one that’s presently ”under developed”. Both USA and west Europe have been living on financial extraction of other countries wealth and when the hosts now disconnect from the west’s financial parasitism there’s almost nothing left.
I made an blog about petrodollar and how this gave USA a free ride. It has also hampered the development of alternatives to oil since these alternatives would have threaten the dollar status as world currency (especially local small scale energy alternatives ).

Funkar alldeles utmärkt det är själva affärsmodellen för bankerna – att skapa nya ”pengar (krediter) genom att modifiera sanningen.- funkar utmärkt kanske var att ta i – funkar tills någon kollar bluffen är mer rätt!

Låna vad? Det är fullkomliga påhitt som bankerna hittar på från nada. Bl.a två låtsas-nobelpristagare i ekonomi (då det inte är ett riktigt nobelpris) har visat bankerna hittar på krediter först från renaste ingenting och letar efter reserver efter ungefär ett år för att kunna ha något att täcka upp med om folk skulle få för sig att syna bluffen – m.a.o om det blir bankrusning.

It seems to me that at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union, the US had options:-
1. Restructure the economy for long term sustainability; invest heavily in research and development to find means of being less reliant on imported oil as the main energy source; make a realistic reassessment of the economy to recognise that the traditional approach of the post World War 11 military-industrial complex lines of production could not be sustained since over time military and defence expenditures and the costs of wars would outstrip the domestic economy’s ability to fund the Empire, since manufacturing jobs were rapidly shifting to lower wage and production cost areas of the world; invest in education, housing, revitalised infrastructure, health care, high technology production targeting global markets – OR
2. Continue with the traditional military-industrial complex approach to running the economy.

the time has arrived when the choice made of the latter of the two options above, has to be not only seen to be, but truly admitted as simply greed and power motivated choices made by a core group with some formally educated individuals having knowledge but lacking either vision or sensible foresight. It is truly hard to resist that conclusion, but there are the ones in the US who label themselves “Tea Party” – “Republican” – “Conservative” and who see more explanation in scapegoating immigrants and minorities than they do in making honest assessment of the consequences of bad and misguided public policy choices made in the recent past. One now sees the consequences of those choices revealing itself – the ‘economic chickens’ are coming home to roost. Actually, the real structural problems besetting the US economy traverse and transcend the traditional lines of right/left divide.
There were real choices at a particular time in recent US history. At this juncture, it seems to me that the former range of choices have shrunk. There is reduced time for implementing constructive domestic political and economic changes and for transition manoevuerability than had existed in the 1990s. That viable option was not seized, and instead the proactive projection of war into the world was embraced and advanced. The US with the benefit of hindsight is now forced to face the reality that there then, back in the 1990s, were further options:-
A . Accept that multilaterism has to be a sensible alternative to continued US militarism and hegemonic thrusts into the world with its avowed unilateralism.
B. Weigh the economic and human costs of US wars projected into the world and examine the costs and savings of the alternatives.
C. Note that by having over expenditures because the US dollar as world reserve currency, has finite operative ranges, there will be domestic consequences of social dislocation without public expenditure amelioration. This spells social unrest and the need for repression of a dissatisfied populace. Only so much over-expenditure can be absorbed by an economy, even if that economy is the world’s largest with the world’s single reserve currency.
But, ideas A,B and C are the kind that most would term ‘idealistic’ and not practical. I would muse and now question, if such ideas of constructive change for sustainable global dominance are ‘idealistic’ – then are the ideas of the neo-cons/PNAC people any more ‘realistic’ when measured by the objective yardstick of the consequences of US public and foreign policies implemented from the 1990s to the present day?
In a certain sense, the way in which the US responded post Soviet Union collapse, was predictable because the Tiger cannot change its stripes – the banner of war had to continue flying – Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya ( and it will continue to be propelled to Syria and Iran). Apparently only when the Tiger through its actions of continued attacks has had all its fur and covering stripped from its very being, will it recognise itself as an exposed creature of vastly different appearance. Maybe, then, and only then will the creature be compelled to stop its aggressions and change its former character for its own survival. But – I am more inclined to accept the observation: “Wounded animals are often the most dangerous, I doubt the US will go down gracefully.”
I am suggesting that it was bad American decisions and imprudent militaristic expenditures that are propelling the US to decline – as distinct from achieving the true “New American Century” containing more constructive sense and design than the lunacy unleashed on the world by the PNAC (see: link above).
China, Russia and others hold too much by way of US denominated financial instruments to compel rapid US implosion. But implode the US system will, if after the 1990s, not having re-structured and sensibly changed, eg.
i) Return to the abandoned non-proliferation treaties and negotiate and implement with integrity with the other nuclear powers. Not only would the world become a safer place (i.e. if one country can blow the world up with its weapons of mass destruction – then if it spends so much to be able to do the same thing tenfold over – does it not in the long run result in expenditures on military material that cannot be used unless one is intend on mutually assured destruction (MAD) when directing such weapons against other nuclear powers?) – but by so changing there are new options opened for resolving the domestic economy’s problems. The savings from this international approach of advancing genuine arms reduction and non-proliferation must constitute quite significant savings for re-application to the domestic US economy in ways that do not merely stockpile weaponry that cannot be used. The alternative peaceful production investments would provide much needed long-term answers for sustainable production.
ii) Restore the Glass-Steagall Act and have sensible banking and financial regulations and interest rates controls re-implemented. The Wall Street free for all and re-payment of trillions by first Bush then Obama must convince even the non-economists of the lunacy and down-right financial criminality which exists between Washington and the “banksters”.
iii) Cut defence expenditures, because by not doing so, with the domestic economy losing jobs and inevitably with the crime rate rising and social dislocations increasing, so too will the prison population. Does it make more sense to create domestic jobs ( with the money saved from defence and military cuts) – or – does it make better sense to continue increasing the prison population and the related costs that incarceration of criminal and non-productive people represent?
Back in the 1990s, with ideas like these, I would be labeled as ‘idealistic’. The neo-cons had and still have power to advance the alternative public and foreign policy agendas – have their ideas worked? In the year 2011 my ‘idealism’ is rapidly beginning to appear quite ‘realistic’.

I disagree witih you:-
A. There are vast swaths of the planet with impoverished and literally starving people.
B. There still is a great contrast between the US/Europe and those economies versus the resource rich countries, such as on the continent of Africa, and the low average level of living standards in the ”developing world” vis-a-vis the industrialised world.
C. With A.and B. in mind – maybe something was lost in the translation. My point really is one of questioning the viablity of trying to replicate the tradional industrialisation model across the world, for reason of the constraints and finite nature of global resources. There has to be coginisance of two simple fact:-
The world cannot provide infinitely for the globe’s population based on the exploitation of finite global resources.
The challlege is to accept the other’s right of peaceful existence and simultaneously design a new global architecture which is sustainable and provides peace with prosperity.
Not totally idealistic – but I feart that the wrong political decisions will first have to be brutally worked through, then and only then will the realisation dawn that the militarism has not worked. The alternative is to make rational decisions for global sustenance.

I broadly agree with your observations.
Right here in the Caribbean at present the Clinton Foundation makes a big announcement for building homes for the poor people in Haiti. Turns out that the homes buildt so far are sub-sandard and the ones who are contracted are overpaid for the buildings. Thus, the money is being diverted. Seems to be standard practice of Western aid givers. There is a grand announcement about billions in aid, following each distarter and then we find consultants, consulting consultants, consulting more consultants and all are paid. It would be far more honest simply to apply the food and medicines directly and simply build the houses, schools and hospitals. I have seen the Cuabans do this in Jamaica and it is quite a contrast to what you are describing.

Consider the historical demographics of Europe. From agrarian societies we find that more children are produced. Makes sense becasue the more children the more to assist on farms and doing the fundamenatal menial tasks that life in such societies require in abundace ( i.e. no machinery, soil to be toiled, animals to be herded and raised). As the society industrialised and urbanised the family size became smaller. There was no advantage in having all those extra children. Better health care meant a lower mortality rate, and the extra hands of the larger number of children for the farms and agraina society, would not give any advantage in the city.
Once Africa develops its resources and potential, I do not doubt that much the same patterns will emerge as occasioned in Europe.
These are general democratic patters we can see operating around the world.
Just consider that as a general rule – the poor have more children, and the rich have less ( contradictory as this may seem).

Learning from Clinton’s Cancer Shelters: How We Give Aid Matters

Lab tests conducted as part of our investigation in Haiti discovered levels of [formaldehyde] in the 6th-grade Clinton Foundation classroom in Léogâne at 250 parts per billion…
Randy Maddalena, a scientist specializing in indoor pollutants at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, characterized [it] as “a very high level” … in “normal” buildings, you’ll see rates 12-25 times lower than 250 parts per billion, “and even that’s considered above regulatory thresholds.”
“You should get those kids outta there,” Maddalena said.
That’s from last week’s Nation report on the Clinton Foundation shelters in Haiti. To construct the shelters, Clinton contracted with Clayton Homes. Clayton is currently being sued in the US for building formaldehyde-laced trailers after Hurricane Katrina.
The Clinton Foundation deserves harsh criticism for hiring a company known to build carcinogenic shelters in disaster areas. And while this would be embarrassing for any organization, it’s particularly inexcusable for Clinton. Why? Because this project was the Clinton Foundation’s first contribution to the Interim Haiti Relief Commission, a group Clinton also co-chairs, which exists to “review all projects proposed by Haitian government ministries and donors” to make sure they “fit Haiti’s needs.”
All Aid Isn’t Created Equal
But simply jumping on the Clinton-bashing bandwagon ignores the broader problem: the way our aid system is set up makes this result inevitable.
The story begins with a practice called “tying” aid. Tied aid is aid that has to be used on goods and services from the donor country. The practice is bad for people in poor countries, but great for contractors. As Oxfam puts it, tying aid means “the value [of aid] flows right back to the US.” Unfortunately, as the graph below shows, the US ties nearly all of its aid – far more than any other country.

Getting What We Pay For: Analyzing Earthquake Relief
Tying aid doesn’t just make aid ineffective, it often makes it harmful. Consider the US earthquake relief effort. 88% of all earthquake relief for Haiti went to one of three sources¹:
o Donors’ own civil and military entities (e.g. hiring our own soldiers to send down),
o Private contractors, and
o The UN and its partner NGOs.
That means our aid went to sending 22,000 US soldiers who were widely criticized for getting in the way of relief efforts. It means our aid went to companies like Chemonics and Monsanto, whose damaging work we’ve already discussed, and Clayton Homes. And it means our aid went to support a UN occupation force hated by Haitians.
It’s easy to decry each individual instance of misconduct. Chemonics, Monsanto, Clayton Homes, and the hostile, occasionally thuggish UN forces in Haiti all make for easy targets. But the real question is this: why does our aid system funnel money to groups whose work range from ineffective to actively harmful?
Designed to Fail: How Old Laws and New Lobbies Ruin Aid
The Origin of USAID
The Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (FAA) established USAID and still shapes foreign aid today. As Connie Veillette explains in a recent podcast on food aid, the FAA was “designed to create a domestic constituency for our international programs.” Lawmakers wanted a law that would benefit US business so those companies would support using foreign assistance as a tool for US foreign policy.
The FAA secured that support, in part, by enshrining aid-tying in the law that created USAID. But as the Clayton Homes debacle illustrates, tying aid comes at the expense of people in countries like Haiti.
Lobbyists Leap to Defend the System
The new USAID Director, Raj Shah, has prioritized strengthening USAID’s ability to partner with local groups. That would mean giving more money to Haitian non-profits and local government rather than multi-national corporations.
Unsurprisingly, this scared the DC contractors, who responded by forming the “Coalition of International Development Companies (CIDC).” Led by companies like Chemonics, who sits on its board, CIDC’s goal is simple: prevent the aid system from changing.
Specifically, their goal is to lobby Congress to make sure USAID money continues going to contractors rather than to local organizations through grants.
Choosing the Right System: Go Local
Even if they have the best intentions, DC-based multi-nationals shouldn’t be in charge of implementing aid projects. These contractors don’t have local knowledge, meaning their ideas are often inappropriate for the local context.
More importantly, they aren’t accountable to Haitians. Contractors receive no-bid contracts, get paid up-front, and work in a disaster zone for a few years before moving on. Whether or not their work is effective doesn’t affect their bottom line. For instance, USAID sent Chemonics and Development Alternatives, Inc. to Haiti despite the fact that USAID’s own assessment found that they failed to fulfill their objectives last time we hired them.
The Haiti Justice Alliance has previously called for supporting local, community-based groups rather than contractors. This approach is a fundamental part of our model. The news of the Clinton Foundation building carcinogenic shelters in Haiti simply illustrates the urgency of these calls. It doesn’t matter how much we give if our money goes to keeping DC contractors afloat rather than to helping empower Haitian efforts.

Men om tjugofyra månader och börsuppgång har alla glömt att vi lever på en knivsegg och säger istället lyckligt – ” mina aktier har ökat med 100 procent”-. Nästa månad är de nere igen därför att storspekulanterna hunnit före och hämtat in sina vinster. På detta sått kommer det att fortgå tills dess vi inser at vi måste ha en annar politik än liberalism och kapitalism nämligen socialism.
